Why to choose an electric toothbrush?

An electric toothbrush or manual toothbrush

All dentists will tell you, to have a healthy mouth and a bright smile, there is a secret, brushing teeth after every meal efficiently. Also as pointed out "We must never forget that the health of our teeth is vital to our wellbeing, it is particularly important to have good oral hygiene."

But between electric toothbrush and toothbrush manual, what to choose?

Three reasons to prefer the electric brush
  • Today, it is recommended more readily using an electric toothbrush since it offers a truly effective and optimized cleaning of teeth but also gums. "It has been proven scientifically, the electric brush removes twice as much plaque than a manual brush. This has the effect of limiting decay and gum disease. "
  • On the other hand, with pressure sensors - that interrupts the movement of the brush as soon as the pressure exerted on the teeth is too high and thus allows the user to have a real control over the brush. Therefore no risk of altering the enamel and attack the gums. Which is not always the case with a manual brush?
  • Contrary to popular belief, the traditional brushing is much more aggressive to the teeth that the electric brush! Indeed, we realized that users of manual toothbrush for the sake of efficiency had the unfortunate tendency to exert excessive pressure on their teeth and gums and rub hard rather than long and this habit can lead to the bleeding gums which may be forwarded to serious periodontal diseases.
But obviously, the thing about the electric toothbrush is that it allows with ease, to adopt the correct technique of brushing which is to brush each tooth from top to bottom in a circular motion on its outer face as its inner face. Besides the technical characteristics of the electric brush, particularly its shape and size can also access all the difficult areas of the mouth including the most inaccessible such as the inter-dental space.

Electric toothbrush: practice for the whole family!
Moreover, as the electric brush requires little effort for a very optimal brushing, it is suitable for all because it is very handy and very easy to use, the electric toothbrush may be especially recommended to all those who lack the strength or dexterity such as elderly, sick people or children or someone can also consult at any dental clinic for better decision while choosing a toothbrush.

Knowing that just 83% of children do not like brushing their teeth, the electric brush can be a fun and sensible solution to support oral hygiene from three years. However, be sure to choose a brush specially designed for younger children.

Electric toothbrush: it is useful also because faster!
With a manual brush, the dentists recommend to brush their teeth for at least three minutes. With an electric toothbrush, two minutes is sufficient and the presence of a timer (sometimes musical for the kids) tells the user the purpose of brushing. So no need to stay glued to the clock!

Another advantage of the electric brush "is that it allows a brush to the card more personalized and can always change the brush type. For example, if a given period, your teeth and gums are sensitive, you can adopt a softer brush. "Some models actually offer different brushing modes (clean, smooth, polish, massage ...) and therefore different types of brushes.

Electric toothbrushes: a plethora choice
There are two main types of electric toothbrushes: tilt rotary models, which are characterized by the rotational movement of a small round head which fits perfectly and cleans the tooth. Then sonic models, including brushing helps sweep clean effectively between the teeth. Whatever your preference then they are divided into an infinity of more or less sophisticated models.

For a first approach, the best is yet to choose an electric toothbrush Midrange: you can appreciate its effectiveness without getting lost in the technicality! Moreover, even if they are more expensive to buy, prefer a rechargeable model (from € 25) to a disposable battery model (from € 6), and which often brush cannot be changed! The former are still more efficient and environmentally too!

If it will cost you between 25 and 160 € for the acquisition of an electric brush, never forget to include in your budget, the price of brushes, from 4 to 16 € the unit sometimes! So always take the time to choose your toothbrush in price / quality ratio!
